Tight, sore muscles can make it hard to move freely, train or even sleep comfortably. At Step By Step Health, our physiotherapists use soft tissue massage and dry needling as part of a complete treatment plan at our Canberra and Malua Bay clinics.

What is dry needling?

Dry needling uses very fine, single-use needles placed into tight or sensitive areas of muscle. Many people find it helps reduce muscle tension and pain so they can move and exercise more comfortably. Your physiotherapist will always explain the treatment and check it's right for you before starting.

Soft tissue massage

Hands-on soft tissue work can ease muscle tightness, improve how a joint moves and help you feel looser after training or long days at work. We combine it with exercises so the benefits last.

Who it can help

  • Neck and shoulder tension

  • Lower back tightness

  • Sports-related muscle soreness and strains

  • Headaches linked to neck and shoulder tension

  • Ongoing muscle tightness that limits movement

Part of a bigger plan

Massage and dry needling work best alongside exercise and education. We'll make sure you leave with a plan to keep improving between sessions.
